Quarterly Newsletter

March 2005

Healthspot is pleased to present its second quarterly newsletter. Our goal is to keep you abreast of Healthspot's progress. We encourage you to contact us directly with your comments and suggestions.

Since our launch in July 2004, we have been working to secure funding, establish committees of the Board of Directors and start up activities in Africa. More information about Healthspot developments can be found at www.healthspotfranchise.org.

OTHER WORK

TB Health Franchising

Healthspot is working with Dr. J.M. Chakaya of the Kenyan NLTP to organize support for community DOTS training of 12 nurses in the Kibera slums of Nairobi. The trainings are based on the NLTP guidelines and are conducted with the help of a Provincial TB/Leprosy Coordinator.

Healthspot is developing a network of franchised private providers to expand quality of care for TB and HIV/AIDS. Healthspot's approach is a cost effective way to increase testing for TB and HIV and to increase the service delivery points. Healthspot's approach will improve quality, accessibility and reliability of services and commodities for the poor. Healthspot is a non-profit 501c3 incorporated in the USA.
